In the British International section employs teachers who are skilled in the delivery of the British curriculum, who, in Key Stage 1 and Years 3 and 4 are supported by local teaching assistants. In addition to studying the British curriculum, all students from Year 4 onwards have a choice of learning French or German. Egyptian National Arabic, Religion and Social Studies. Non-Egyptian students are also offered Arabic as a foreign language. Unlike many schools, the EGIS approach to education is not limited to merely coaching students to pass exams. Our academic and cultural programme is designed to ensure that an experiential approach augments and enhances the theoretical, and life skills (the "hidden curriculum") are woven into the educational fabric. The courses and examinations that we offer enable successful students to enrol in tertiary institutions throughout the world, and through our career counselling shared links with BCCIS, we afford our students and their parents the opportunity to make informed choices about careers and the courses that need to be taken in order to ensure acceptance into the universities of their choice.
The Deutsches Sprachdiplom is offered to students in both EGIS sections. It provides the opportunity for our students who choose this course to attain a level of proficiency in the German language that will afford them a no-cost university education in Germany, provided they fulfil the other normal university entrance requirements. El Gouna has a climate that is tailor-made for outdoor activities, and students have the opportunity to participate in a range of sports including volleyball, handball, basketball, football, swimming, table tennis, sailing, kitesurfing, squash and wakeboarding. Cultural activities include choir, acappella group, guitar group, School band, chess, young engineers, science club, art and others are offered dependent on the interests and skills of the current teachers.
